Beacon Finish Season With Borrowed Driver

Beacon Finish Season With Borrowed Driver

After the frustration of being penalised in the last Ginetta GT Supercup outing at Brands Hatch due to the car being too light, it was a little disappointing to arrive at Silverstone on Friday morning to find that the Beacon Racing team were again up against it, having no driver for the weekends racing!

Fortunately, after much hunting around, the guys at Ginetta came up trumps finding an experienced replacement for us in the form of Rob Gaffney. Rob is an experienced driver in the G50’s having run his own car at the beginning of the season and he was eager to jump back in with the Beacon team.

Rob certainly didn’t let us down either, putting in a good performance and doing a great job of avoiding the first lap chaos; eventually going on to finish 5th in class.

Rob Gaffney Drives for Beacon
With the Ginetta GT Supercup now finished, we would like to say a big thank you to everyone that has helped us over the course of this season. That includes Beacon Racing, Ginetta, Mickey Doyle, Gary Duckman and Rob Gaffney.

Now the season is over, the planning for our challenge in 2012 begins, so watch this space for news of our progress!
